Top Navigation and Maps Apps on Android in Kenya Q4 2024

In the fourth quarter of 2024, Kenya's Android market for navigation and maps applications saw significant activity. Here's a detailed look at the top five applications, based on data from Sensor Tower.

GPS Satellite View: Live Maps experienced a fluctuating but generally upward trend in weekly downloads, starting at 5.6K and peaking at 9.2K by the end of December. Weekly active users showed consistent growth from 37.5K to 55K by the quarter's close.

Offline Maps, GPS, Speedometer saw a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting from 5.4K and reaching a high of 7.9K mid-quarter. Active users mirrored this trend, rising from 3.6K to 5.5K in the same period.

Camera Location: Geotag Photos had a spike in downloads with weekly numbers climbing from 1.2K to over 4K in November. Active user numbers also grew steadily, ending the quarter at approximately 4K.

Radar - Speed Camera Detector maintained a steady download rate, with a minor peak of 3.5K in early November. Active users increased from 2.6K to 4K by the end of December.

Lastly, Voice GPS & Driving Direction showed a steady increase in downloads from 728 to 2.3K. Active users followed a similar trend, starting at 556 and peaking at 991 by the quarter's end.
